overview
🎬 First things first…
We are NOT looking for perfect applications. Seriously.
The people we remember are the most human ones ! For more information of what we’re looking for, visit our archive and check out who we’ve sponsored in our previous cohort!
We care way more about….
<aside>
- honesty: am I going to really use this grant for what its meant to be for?
- intention: am I doing this for myself, or is this just for fun?
- excitement: is this something you’ve been itching to do, or are you doing this because we’re giving you the money?
- personality: do I have the ability to inspire other people to do something crazy like I am?
- storytelling: do I have the ability to show my adventure in an enticing and admirable way? (for more information of what we’re looking for, visit: How do I Document Dawg?! 💬)

…than sounding polished or professional!
If your application feels like you, you’re probably doing it right :)
The Application
Phase I — Written
[ one-liner ] — your hook.
If this quest was a movie, what would it headline as? A good one-liner should instantly make someone curious :)
Usually the strongest ones are:
- specific: is there an end goal or am I being ambiguous?
- easy to picture: is this truly attainable?
- slightly unexpected: is this somewhat spontaneous?
- straight to the point: do I really know what I want to do, or have I not really thought this through?
